Hi there! My name is Kelsey Molandes and I am so honored to be your child’s first grade teacher! This year will be a very exciting and fun journey. I believe children are unique in their own way. Therefore, my classroom will be designed to provide what’s best for your individual child’s needs; to ensure his/her highest potential of learning. I am here to support, facilitate and collaborate to ensure your child has every possible opportunity to be successful!
I am a proud graduate from Elkhart High School, so Elkhart is definitely my home! Go ELKS! I married my high school sweetheart, Tate, and together we have a five year old little boy named Tye, and a four month old little boy named Tucker. We also have a cute little weenie dog named Copper, and a silver lab named Lincoln. In my free time I enjoy reading, playing the piano, and sewing.
This is my fourth year teaching, but my seventh year in education. I was a kindergarten, second, and third grade aide for 3 years while I attended college at Stephen F. Austin State University. Axe ‘em Jacks!! After graduating I taught first grade for one year at another district, third grade for two years here in Elkhart, and now, here I am back in first grade! Teaching is most certainly my passion and I am so excited to start a new journey alongside your child this school year! Although this year may present some new challenges due to the circumstances, it will be a great year, nonetheless.
